About Me:

This is my tenth year as a Social Studies teacher. During that time I have taught World History (on-level and Pre-AP/Honors), World Geography (on-level and Pre-AP/Honors), World Religions, 8th Grade US History, and 7th Grade Texas History. I am happy to be back teaching World History which is my favorite subject to teach. I recently moved back to the DFW area from Abilene where I had been for the past three years. I have an 8 year old Dachshund named Heffy (short for Hephaestus - the Greek God of Fire). I am currently in Grad School (online) at Sam Houston State University pursuing a Master's degree in History. When I'm not teaching I am usually spending time with my parents, who live in Granbury, or at home in Weatherford. I love anything involving arts and crafts (making posters, mandala coloring books, making gift boxes, etc.), Classic Rock music, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings, and I regularly attend Comicon events. I also enjoy traveling. One of my favorite things to do is travel by train from New York to San Francisco so I can see the Appalachian Mountains, the Plains, the Rocky Mountains, and the Sierra Nevada all in a span of 3 days.
