Courtney Chaney

Hi! I am excited to be an Assistant Principal at Mineral Wells High School. I was born in Abilene, TX and have two brothers. I have seven nieces and nephews who I enjoy spending time with and watching them grow.  My dog, Remi, is a 12 year old Schnauzer and enjoys all the spoiling he gets.  He especially loves his bow ties!

I graduated from McMurry University with my Bachelor's Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.  After graduation, I accepted a position as a first grade teacher at Lamar Elementary.  While teaching at Lamar, I served in many leadership capacities.  In 2018, I became a Multi-Classroom Leader at Lamar for kindergarten where I worked to help build the capacity of teachers and help students succeed.  In 2020, I started my Master's Degree through Lamar University.  I graduated with my Master's in Administration in the spring of 2021. Although I have spent a majority of my time in the early childhood world, I have wanted the opportunity to grow my leadership skills.  I will be starting my first year as an assistant principal in the town that I love and can't wait to help lead Mineral Wells High School to success. GO RAMS!
