Principal Shanna Spillers

Principal Spillers Family

Hello! My name is Shanna Spillers and I am honored to be the principal at Mineral Wells High School. I was born and raised in Rankin, Texas, where my family has been in the ranching industry for many years. I credit my mother, who was a first-grade teacher for 36 years, as the individual that began my love for learning and teaching.

I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. After graduation, I started my teaching career as a Pre-K teacher in Lubbock and then moved to Mineral Wells to teach Special Education at Travis Elementary. After teaching for a few years, I made the decision to embark upon graduate school at Tarleton State University. I graduated from Tarleton State University with a Master’s in Counseling. I was a school counselor at Liberty Elementary in Azle ISD for one year, Mineral Wells Jr. High for three years, and Millsap High School for two years. I earned my principal certification from Tarleton State University and my superintendent certification from Angelo State University. I served as assistant principal at Mineral Well Jr. High for one year, as principal at Millsap Middle School for five years, as well as assistant superintendent of Millsap ISD for two years. I was also blessed to serve as an Educational Consultant for the principal certification program at ESC Region 11 for one year. I love Mineral Wells High School and am honored to lead this fantastic campus every day.
