My Texas Future Direct Admissions Requirement

Mineral Wells ISD is providing the following information to high school students and parents in accordance with Senate Bill 2314 and Texas Education Code §§28.0257 and 61.0511.

My Texas Future is a free online resource that helps students explore careers, colleges, financial aid, and direct admission opportunities. Students and parents may:

• Create or annually update a My Texas Future account and profile
• Change or revise the student’s profile
• Opt out of one or more programs offered through My Texas Future

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, each high school student must indicate before graduation whether the student chooses to allow the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to share the student’s academic information with participating Texas colleges and universities for the Direct Admissions Program. Information that may be shared includes the student’s graduation plan, class rank, grade point average, SAT total score, and ACT composite score.

Participation in the Direct Admissions Program is optional. Students who choose to participate must create a profile at MyTexasFuture.org and elect to participate in the program.

If you authorize your student to decline participation in the Direct Admissions Program, please use the link below to access the official TEA Direct Admissions Opt-Out Form. Complete, sign, and return the form to the MWHS counseling office.

Because this information was not included in MWISD’s beginning-of-year registration materials, it is being provided separately to ensure that all high school students and families receive the required notification.
